Who needs a root canal:
Root canals are performed for variety of reasons:
Dental Pain: any dental pain should be evaluated for possible nerve involvement
Heat sensitivity: if your tooth hurts when eating and or drinking something warm or hot and the pain goes away by drinking cold water.
Cold sensitivity: if your tooth hurts when you eat or drink something cold and the pain lasts more than 30 seconds or it goes away and it comes back as low throb.
Broken Tooth Needing a Build-Up: Most of the tooth is broken and the canals need to be accessed to do a solid post build-up.
Here at our office at Downtown Seattle Dentist, we start the root canals to get our patients out of pain and we will refer our patient to the Endodontist for completion of the procedures. At which point the patient will return to our office for the final restorations.
